STAMFORD, CT - Following the acclaimed debut with the Stamford Symphony in November, Guitarist, Thomas Flippin returned to Fairfield County - this time to work with young musicians at INTEMPO under the auspices of the Stamford Symphony on Tuesday December 10 at 7pm.

Flippin says, "Performing the Concierto de Aranjuez with the masterful musicians of the Stamford Symphony was an absolute joy, partially because I got to meet so many wonderful students before and after the weekend’s performances. When music brings you together with such artistically engaged families, it’s easy to get excited about the opportunity to create even more connections with that community."

Flippin gave a masterclass to several ensembles of guitar and charanga students who are currently studying at INTEMPO and preparing for their concert this upcoming weekend. This unbelievable opportunity to receive feedback in an open forum where students can learn directly from Mr. Flippin as well as learn from watching Mr. Flippin work with other students is a unique experience that they will surely cherish. Students who received instruction from him include: Abygail and Daniel Giron ón guitar; Nathaly, Emily and Tito Huyhua on charango and guitar; Ashley and Kimberly Gutierrez-Gastelu On charango. Teaching artists Scott Hill and Geo Suquillo were also at the masterclass.

This partnership between Stamford Symphony and community organization, INTEMPO is another way that Stamford Symphony is able to support its mission of providing inspiring educational initiatives to the community. Stamford Symphony is grateful for the work that INTEMPO accomplishes to bring music to the forefront of children across cultural and economic backgrounds.
