Playhouse on the Green, a 54-year-old not-for-profit theater company in residence at a beautiful 228-seat jewel-box theater in the heart of downtown Bridgeport, presents a staged reading of More than 60 Years After, a collection of Holocaust-themed plays, on Sunday, April 27 at 7PM. The reading is part of the "Page to Stage" New Play Reading Series, an ongoing Playhouse program that supports Connecticut playwrights and introduces audiences to their latest creations. The four original one acts by Stratford playwright Mark Lambeck are being presented to commemorate the international Yom HaShoah -Holocaust Remembrance Day which is being observed worldwide on May 1.

Directed by Jack Rushen of Stratford, More Than 60 Years After comprises the one-act plays "The Registrar," "Chance," "The Barracks Chief," and "Ben's Story."

In "The Registrar" a Czech woman tries to convince the recordkeeper at a concentration camp to help her find her teenage son. "Chance" focuses on a modern minister's wife who seeks psychiatric help after she is haunted by images of the Holocaust. In "The Barracks Chief," an Italian prisoner in Auschwitz refuses her daily rations in an attempt to observe Yom Kippur. "Ben's Story" concerns a master's degree candidate who uses his grandfather's survival story as the basis for his thesis to contradict Holocaust deniers. But during his research, he uncovers a family secret that threatens his relationship with his grandfather as well as his degree work.

The show features Dorothy Bryce of Westport; Debra Hanusick of Bridgeport; Sarah Eve Keller of Norwalk; David Victor of Milford; and Percy Di Blasi and Katherine Marchand, both of Stratford.
