"The next best thing to actually seeing Steve Perry and the boys, is going to an Evolution show. Its 2 hours of Journey hits. As good as the real thing. So says Charlie Walk, President of Epic Records. He should know as Epic was Journeys record label back in the day when hits such as "Don't Stop Believing," "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Open Arms," "Separate Ways" and "Wheel in the Sky" were big. And if youre one of those people who knows all of the subtle nuances of one of rocks best opening keyboard riffs as found in the song Dont Stop Believing youre going to want to see the Journey Tribute Band: Evolution at The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16.

With lead singer Hugo, a dead ringer for Steve Perry, both visually and vocally, fronting, the band of veteran musicians from New York is the closest there is to the early to mid 1980s live-up of Journey live. Journey released their eighth and biggest-selling studio album, Escape in 1981. The album, which would ultimately sell nine times platinum, went to number one on the album charts that year, and included three top-ten hits: Whos Crying Now, Dont Stop Believing and Open Arms.

For tickets ($40/$35) and further information about The Playhouse, call the box office at 203-438-5795; tickets may also be purchased online at www.ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Playhouse is located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.
