Rosanne Cash won a Grammy Award for her rendition of "I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me." Her 14 record albums, released over the last 25 years, have charted 11 number one singles, and her album, "Seven Year Ache" yielded both country and crossover hits, "Rhythm and Romance" and "King's Record Shop." Now, Rosanne Cash is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts as part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series on Friday, April 25 at 8 p.m.
Born with country music in her veins, Ms. Cash has recorded with her father, Johnny as well as Lyle Lovett, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Sheryl Crow. For more than 20 years-with such albums as "Interiors," "10 Song Demo" and "Rules of Travel, Cash has made personal honesty a compelling signature of her songwriting. She has never been willing to turn away from difficult emotions or complex situations. Indeed, a writer first, she has found her truest voice in articulating the most heartbreaking emotional realities, but, she believes, also in the limitless possibilities of personal redemption.
