Gov't Mule coming to The Ives Concert Park

Gov't Mule uses their audiences as a source of energy, sharing a moment in time-it is a unique relationship the band has cultivated since its formation as a power offshoot of the Allman Brothers Band back in 1994. Presented by The Ridgefield Playhouse and Premier Concerts, Gov't Mule will take the stage at The Ives Concert Park on Saturday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. (gates open at 5)

Big riffs, massive grooves and expansive improvisations are the hallmarks of Gov't Mule's legendary live shows. Likewise, their well-crafted songs feature larger-than-life characters bearing life's heaviest burdens, performed by guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes (who is number 23 on Rolling Stone's list of all-time top guitarists), drummer Matt Abts, keyboard player Danny Louis and bassist Andy Hess. Their latest album, "High & Mighty," bridges the gap between rock and improvisation music. Laced with blues, folk, reggae, soul and jazz, it, like Gov't Mule itself, stubbornly refuses to be categorized.

Ives Concert Park (on Western Connecticut University west side campus, Mill Plain Road to University Blvd) does not allow the carrying in of alcoholic beverages or glass containers to the concert grounds. Beer and wine are available at fair and reasonable prices at the concession stands.
