If you've ever been to a Gallagher show you may think you need to come dressed in rubber to protect yourself from his trusty Sledge-O-Matic. No need! This show at The Ridgefield Playhouse will be laughs only as Gallagher takes the stage with his "cleaned up" version on Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. as part of the Bruce Bennett Nissan Comedy Series. I95 fm is the media sponsor.
Having the distinction of "being the first real star to come out of cable television," Gallagher is recognized for his reality-bashing approach to life. "My humor makes people think . . . I don't have to make it up, the truth is funny enough," states the destructive comedian. He is a keen and original observer of human nature and the American "scene." "I want people to look more closely at this country and their lives to see the humor and absurdity in it all."
Gallagher's specials on cable television include Uncensored Evening, Too Real and Melon Crazy.
For tickets ($40) and further information, call the box office at (203) 438-5795 or go online to ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street.
