From Russia With Love: Norwalk Symphony opens 2008-09 season on September 27

On Saturday, September 27th at 8:00 pm, the Norwalk Symphony presents the opening concert of its 69th consecutive season with “From Russia With Love”. The all-Russian program will feature Overture: Russlan and Ludmilla by Glinka, Symphony No. 5, Op.64, E minor by Tchaikovsky and Piano Concerto No.3, Op. 26, C major, highlighting the talents of guest pianist, 18 year old Hao Chen Zhang.

Hao Chen Zhang is a student of legendary pianist Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and is a rising star poised on the verge of a major career.

The concert will be held in the Norwalk Concert Hall, 124 East Avenue at 8:00 p.m. Podium Perspectives, a pre-concert talk with Music Director Diane Wittry will take place at 7:00 p.m., open to concert ticket holders. A post concert reception will be held in the Community Room of Norwalk City Hall.
