WBDC launches program to respond to challenging economic climate

Fairfield, CT - Even in Connecticut, the current recession has added a level of economic stress to the budgets of many of families. particularly those headed by women. In response to the needs of its core clientele, Women's Business Development Council is taking action to help educate its clients on how to manage financial needs with less resources. WBDC’s Financial coaching program helps participants decrease debt, improves credit and reduce debt and develop a healthy relationship with their money by making a commitment to live within their means. This program further illustrates WBDC’s mission of fostering a culture of economic self reliance for all women.

The fundamental goals of the program is to help clients get their personal finances in order as well as empower them to have financial control of their life. Budget Coaching, a personalized service allows participants to meet one on one with their own coach to isolate their financial goals, develop a household budget and create an action plan to stabilize personal finances. Coaches work with clients on debt and other personal issues such as credit score that typically are too personal and daunting to face.

“It is critical that individuals gain an understanding of their current financial picture as well as set future financial goals. WBDC’s financial programs can provide participants clarity on what is important their life and personal finances. Says WBDC CEO Fran Pastore

WBDC’s Financial Coaching is a four month program that includes an orientation workshop and three months of one on one coaching. Qualified candidates must be able to complete an application, participate in an assessment phone interview and attend a two-hour orientation/workshop on Thursday, March 8th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in Fairfield.

WBDC is now accepting applications for enrollment. Registration and material fee upon acceptance into the program: $50. Application deadline: Friday, March 2. Enrollment is limited. Contact Aiesha Mclean now for an application at 203.353.1750 or AMclean@ctwbdc.org.
