A group from the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, Inc. (JLSN) attended the Women's Day at the Capitol on February 9, 2010. Sponsored by the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women in Connecticut, the program featured expert testimony on the key issues facing women in Connecticut today, ranging from the effect of the recession on women to pay equity to health and environmental issues.
Afterward, Darien and Norwalk State Representative Terrie Wood arranged for the group to meet area Legislators including New Canaan, Stamford and Greenwich State Senator L. Scott Frantz, House Republican Leader Larry Cafero of Norwalk and Representative John Hetherington of New Canaan. "We are excited to work with the Legislators in our service area to address critical needs in the community." Also attending were President-elect Angelica Oxford of Darien, League Treasurer Tammy Roberts of Weston, Adrian Dannhauser of Norwalk and Community Council Director Tracy Inall of Ridgefield.
