SHU debuts in national rankings of best colleges by U.S. News & World report

For the first time in Sacred Heart University history, the college known for having the happiest students engaged in community service, was elevated to the national listing of U.S.News & World Report’s Best Colleges. According to the U.S.News website, “schools in the National Universities category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus masters and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research or award professional practice doctorates.” While Sacred Heart has been thriving and growing for the last 56 years, ranking on this list of the most prestigious national universities is evidence that the once commuter school has arrived on the national higher education scene.

Stamford Public Schools Announces New Location and Name for All Alternative Education Programs

Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced that all SPS alternative education programs (RISE, LEAP and the new SPS middle school program) will be located at 68 Southfield Avenue for the 2019-2020 school year. Additionally, instead of ARTS, the collective name for all SPS alternative education programs will be SPS Anchor.

Stamford Public Schools Named Robert Stacy as Executive Director Human Resources and Talent Development

Stamford Public Schools (SPS) Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero and the Stamford Board of Education (BOE) named Robert A. Stacy as Executive Director of Human Resources and Talent Development, at a Special Board Meeting, held Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Stacy brings more than 30 years’ experience in school district, corporate and U.S. Army Human Resources. He will join SPS in mid-September.
