The Summer Institute offers engaging and rigorous three and six-week academic programs for middle and upper school students, one-week sports camps, and a one-week session for lower school students. In addition, we have included a four-week theater program culminating in a performance and a three-week instrumental program. A student is free to choose more than one course or sport as long as the student's choices correspond with the schedule.
About the Summer Institute |
As we enter our fifth year, the 2008 Summer Institute is thrilled to offer another summer of? exciting, fun, and challenging programs for our students. Our steady growth each year is directly attributed to the enthusiasm and expertise of our teachers and coaches. We are also excited about extending our sports camps for an additional week and adding two Performing Arts activities!?
The Summer Institute courses provide opportunities for acceleration, enrichment, and remediation, and some upper school classes can be taken for academic credit with the approval of the students home school. Classes are NOT limited to King & Low-Heywood Thomas School students and about half of our students attend public, private, and parochial schools. The Institute is particularly proud of the fact that students from over forty-five schools were represented in the 2007 Summer Institute, and over one-third of the students returned from the previous year! King & Low-Heywood Thomas School is an accredited, coeducational college preparatory school, and the Summer Institute is open to students from any school.
